NEILSON FINANCIAL SERVICES (UK): DR MATT GATRELL is Chief Information Officer at Neilson Financial Services. His PhD from Brunel explored faults in a large C# system and he brings expertise in fault and refactoring analysis. His research interest focuses on refactoring and the problems that industrial developers and project managers face in the short and long-term. He has collaborated in the past with Steve Counsell, Rob Hierons and Tracy Hall.
SNELL ADVANCED MEDIA (SAM)( UK): DR JAMES CAIN is Principal Software Engineer. He has over fifteen years of experience as a professional developer. His PhD from Reading University explored the effects of scale on programmer productivity when developing large software systems (using multi-million line projects and multi-person decades of effort). He has collaborated with both Steve Swift and Steve Counsell in the past.
TESCO UI ENGINEERING (LONDON): MR JITEN VARA is an Agile Coach, with experience of working with organisations to help them to improve how they deliver work, in sectors ranging from charity to multinational retail. He is a Certified Scrum Master through the Scrum Alliance and a Professional Scrum Master through scrum.org. Jiten strongly believes in the human aspect of technology and provides coaching and mentoring to both individuals and teams in Agile and Lean thinking.
SHAZAM ENTERTAINMENT (LONDON): MR COLIN VIPURS is a Senior Technology “Evangelist” with Shazam and has over fifteen years experience as a developer and tester. His company was recently in the news as a “billion dollar London success” (bbc.co.uk/news/technology-30917477). Colin has given many talks at conferences and is author of a recent book on unit test mistakes.
BRITISH COMPUTER SOCIETY (BCS) – SOFTWARE INTEREST GROUP ON SOFTWARE TESTING (SIGIST): MR STUART REID is a software testing consultant with over 30 years’ experience in the IT industry, working in development, testing and education. He is convener of the ISO Software Testing Working Group, which is developing the new ISO 29119 Software Testing standards, chairs the BCS Specialist Group in Software Testing and founded the International Software Testing Qualifications Board (ISTQB) to promote software testing qualifications globally.
SIMULA, OSLO NORWAY: DR LEON MOONEN is a Senior Research Scientist at Simula Research Laboratory. His research creates techniques to support the evolution of large software systems. He co-founded the Software Improvement Group, a company that uses source code analysis to help organisations control their software systems, and which currently employs 65 people. In 2014, he was Co-Program Chair of the IEEE International Conference on Software Maintenance and Evolution.
IBM, HURSLEY, UK: MR RICHARD COPPEN is a Software Engineer in the United Kingdom working on the development and testing of IBM’s messaging products. He is co-chair of the OASIS MQTT standard’s Technical Committee and a Fellow of the BCS. He has a strong focus on software delivery innovation and the software testing profession.
